(@Molly) [21:06] (@Molly) 7 weeks ago got married. In that time she saved Sorgi and Otto, and was attacked by the montaigne debt collectors (about 4 weeks ago), and was on an arsoned ship (7 days ago). Now they're faced with a beautiful but cruel adversary with access to wealth, influence. One who knows exactly how to destroy Morgan, and has the desire to do so.
(@Molly) [21:09] (@Molly) With the Comte De La Fere escorted from town, one potential risk should be removed. But what could Alarice have set into motion in the 7 weeks she's resided in Fischlers house? And what of the montaigne assasin girl who was following the comte? And the staff who gave Molly the pennyroyal wine?
(@Molly) [21:12] (@Molly) Awaiting Adalbrecht, Morgan knows he has 4 days to protect and defend Molly and Varick. Though he has Claudia, and the friendship of the Eisenfurst, they are virtually confined inside a house he knows almost nothing of, with guards and staff unknown to him. Also, he has seen security weaknesses in this town (docs handed over to a stranger, guards with incomplete disguises, no credentials checked at jail, poisoning) MTF
(@Molly) Varick) **she looks to Morgan** I need my seeing box so I know what else to add. Do you want me to go, or stay here with Varick?
(@Molly) (Varick) Sewing *
(@Molly) (@Morgan) Stay here, I'll go
(@Molly) (Varick) Mol: it's in Fyodors chest.
(@Molly) * @Morgan frowns
(@Molly) (@Morgan) Right. Anything else?
(@Molly) (Varick) **she taps her lip a moment* My other trousers, please
(@Molly) * @Morgan nods
(@Molly) (@Morgan) Stay put, I won't be long
(@Molly) (Varick) **she watches him closely, walking with him to the door. She speaks very quietly** we aren't going anywhere, liebes herz. Be careful please. ((Done))
* Morgan nods
(Morgan) I will
* @Molly watches him a moment, then nods with a little smile, opening the door for him
(Morgan) Don't take any risks letting anyone in here, understood?
* @Molly nods solemnly
(@Molly) Of course not, liebling
* Morgan nods, leaving the room
* @Molly shuts and locks the door behind him
** You're now known as Claudia
* @Claudia is heading towards the nursery to find him as he is heading towards the stairs to find her
(@Claudia) Ah! There you are!
* Morgan nods
(Morgan) indeed I am
(@Claudia) I was coming to let you know that it got a little too busy down there for much snooping
(Morgan) oh?
(@Claudia) Sudden influx of guards
(Morgan) Interesting. Given her assertions, I'm concerned she's already put something into motion. I need you to help me keep Molly and Varick safe
* @Claudia nods
(@Claudia) The guardhouse looks fairly solid. Your risk is any visitors there , pre-planned attacks, or staff that have been subverted.
(Morgan) Which at least one of them must have been
* @Claudia shrugs
(@Claudia) That should be easy to find out
* Morgan nods
(Morgan) See what you can do, will you
* @Claudia looks thoughtful
(@Claudia) Alright. How are they?
(Morgan) Worried.... we've not told Varick quite whats going on
* @Claudia nods briefly
(@Claudia) And you?
* Morgan shrugs
* @Claudia nods her head once
(@Claudia) Any idea what they servant looked like?
(Morgan) you'd have to ask Molly
(@Claudia) Nursery?
* Morgan nods
(@Claudia) Anything else?
(Morgan) Sorgi asked me to say goodbye... he's gone to fetch my father
* @Claudia looks briefly surprised, then nods
(@Claudia) Alright
* @Claudia inclines her head, waiting to be dismissed
(Morgan) I suspect we're going to make ourselves unwelcome
* @Claudia smiles slightly
(@Claudia) I'll take safe over welcome any day.
* Morgan nods
(Morgan) let me know what you find out
(@Claudia) Of course *She nods and goes off to the nursery *
* Morgan moves on to find Fyodors box
(@Claudia) **It's in their room. The mahogany box is locked, but having used it on all their travels, he knows to slide the 4 brass dials until they read DOWN, the solution to the riddle on top.
(@Claudia) **Upon opening it, he notices first the familiar scent of her perfume, the box full of their travelling items. He notices that the left inside panel looks strange
* Morgan mutters, looking at the panel
(@Claudia) **it seems to be slightly more inset on one side than the other. It occurs to him that all 4 sides of the box are thicker than they really need to be for that size and weight of trunk
* Morgan frowns, taking out a knife to poke the panel
(@Claudia) **when he sticks it in the gap at the top outer corner there's a faint clicking noise
* Morgan continues to investigate
(@Claudia) **after poking all the corners, the inset panel loosens enough to be removed easily
* Morgan tries to pry it off
(@Claudia) **it comes off easily, as if designed to be opened and closed repeatedly
(Morgan) One day Fyodor, I'm going to find you and have some very choice words for you
* Morgan looks behind the panel
(@Claudia) **There's a collection of items. Many bottles of herbs and mixtures, 3 small leather note books, and a tin about 4 inches square
(@Claudia) **one notebook is immediately familiar before he opens it, it's Molly's book with crib sheets she'd copied from the Torrington Estate and used the night she tried to decode Karstens diary
* Morgan frowns at the items
(@Claudia) **the bottles are labelled in Mollys writing
(@Claudia) **the tin is old, and unfamiliar
* Morgan tucks the tin into a pocket before putting the rest back and resealing the panel
(@Claudia) **He gets the panel in perfectly. It looks completely normal
* Morgan collects the other items he was sent for before closing the chest
(@Claudia) **the trousers and her sewing box are in the top of the trunk. The sewing box is tied together with ribbon, the hasp missing and the hinges broken.
* Morgan checks the trunk is locked before leaving the room and taking the items back to the nursery
** You're now known as Molly
(@Molly) ** There is a servant waiting outside the door when he gets back
* Morgan looks the servant over
(@Molly) **She looks about 14, just waiting calmly
* Morgan comes to a stop just out of arms reach
(Morgan) Are you waiting for something?
(@Molly) Servant: My Lord, his Grace asked me to ask if you wanted anything?
* Morgan shakes his head
(Morgan) we'll let you know if we do
(@Molly) *She curtsies and wanders off*
* Morgan tries the door to the nursery
(@Molly) **It's locked
* Morgan knocks
(@Molly) Who is it?
(Morgan) Morgan
* @Molly unlocks the door, taking a big step back
* Morgan enters slow
* @Molly stands watchfully, ready. Her sword is in her hand but rests down beside her leg
(@Molly) You are well?
(Morgan) well enough
* @Molly nods. She watches to see what he does with the door
* Morgan closes the door behind him, locking it
* @Molly moves closer to him, placing her sword back by the door. She speaks in ¥avalon¥
(@Molly) ¥I considered barricading it with the sideboard, but I did not wish the worry him¥
(@Molly) To*
* Morgan nods
(Morgan) I daresay we're overreacting, but I'd rather that than the alternative
* @Molly nods, eyes serious
(@Molly) It does not do to dismiss these things out of hand
* Morgan nods
* @Molly smiles a little
(@Molly) Though four days of confinement is going to be challenging!
* Morgan nods
(Morgan) no doubt
(@Molly) I shall at least submit to your security plans more easily than Lady Catherine usually did!
* @Molly smiles
* Morgan rolls his eyes
(Morgan) She knew how to make life difficult
* @Molly smiles with genuine amusement
(@Molly) Indeed. Perhaps I am somewhat less wilful?
(Morgan) I don't think thats it, exactly
* @Molly frowns a little
(@Molly) At least there we had a home advantage.
* Morgan shrugs
* @Molly chews her lower lip
(@Molly) What should we do now?
(Morgan) prepare for the worst, hope for the best
* @Molly looks thoughtful, still chewing her lip
(@Molly) ¥I was going to speak to Herr Dreschler whilst we were here about the plans for what happens to Varick if something happens to us
* Morgan nods
(Morgan) I'm sure that can be arranged
(@Molly) We need not decide right now, but it would be prudent to ensure his future. Also, what you would like to happen to Innesbruck, and your stewardship of Koln.
(Morgan) something to think about
* @Molly sighs wearily a moment
(@Molly) We should have considered these things before now perhaps, but so much has happened
* Morgan nods
(Morgan) we've been rather busy
* @Molly nods a moment, then smiles warmly
(@Molly) Some of that busyness was rather wonderful though.
* Morgan nods
(Morgan) aye
* @Molly comes to him, taking his hand and squeezing gently
(@Molly) We will have other wonderful days, today is just one of the not so wonderful ones
* Morgan nods
(Morgan) I'm sure you're right
* @Molly watches him closely ((how confident does he sound in that?))
(Morgan) ((fairly))
* @Molly squeezes his hand before letting go
(@Molly) **they're interrupted by a knock at the door**
**
* @Molly looks at him a moment, watching to follow his lead
* Morgan puts a hand inside the back of his coat
(Morgan) who is it?
(@Molly) Claudia: It's me
* Morgan opens the door
* @Molly moves towards the window, looking out into the courtyard. Claudia enters, watchful.
(@Molly) *Varick is busily talking to some toy soldiers in his room
(Morgan) You're back here rather quickly...
(@Molly) C: *She shrugs* It was quite easy
* @Molly watches them briefly before taking the tatty sewing box and opening it on the table.
(Morgan) Go on...
(@Molly) C: The servant didn't have a clue about the wine. Alarice gave her the tray with a face like a slapped-... with an angry expression, saying a certain other servant had dumped it on her.

(A) That makes me feel a little better at least. I do have something else we need to know though
** A is now known as Morgan
(Molly) C: what?
(Morgan) Back in Sudlachenburg, one of the valets from here left a cloak at the blacksmiths, but the Eisenfurst says none of his valets had reason to be there...
(Molly) C: And you want me to find out? Or to wait here while you find out?
(Morgan) I want you to find out, if you can... who and what they were meddling in.
(Molly) C: *She nods* It might take a while. There's a lot of guards down there, and they didn't seem best pleased about a stranger asking questions.
(Morgan) If they give you any problems, I'll go and ask, but they'll like that even less
(Molly) C: Understood. Anything else?
(Morgan) Not so far
* Molly comes over with her list, plus two letters
(Molly) If you could find someone to get servants to go and get these things, plus arrange delivery, I would very much appreciate it
(Molly) C: *She takes them, inclining her head. She looks to Morgan waiting for dismissal or further instructions*
* Morgan nods slightly to her
(Molly) C: *She leaves*
(Morgan) That... trunk... has a loose panel
* Molly looks confused
(Molly) Yes
(Morgan) it wasn't completely set in place properly
* Molly subconsciously touches the back of her hair
(Molly) I must have not put it back quite right
(Morgan) Indeed. I was concerned that perhaps someone was trying to put something in there to suggest my cousin was not to blame.
(Molly) Oh! I rather thought you knew that there are hidden storage spaces within the sides
(Morgan) No, generally speaking if its one of his boxes, I avoid it wherever possible
* Morgan takes out the small tin
* Molly smiles
(Morgan) this didn't look quite so organised as the rest of it, so I thought I'd check with you
* Molly 's smile fades a little.
(Molly) It's the seeds.
* Morgan nods, putting the tin back in his pocket
* Molly watches him a moment, looking slightly unsure of herself
(Molly) I did not think it prudent to leave them in Innesbruck
(Morgan) you're probably quite right
* Molly looks serious
(Molly) I needed to know that if _they_ came looking, we had the option of handing them over
* Morgan nods
(Morgan) They seemed more hell bent on dealing with the Comte
* Molly chews her lower lip thoughtfully
(Molly) That concerns me, I must admit
(Morgan) What?
(Molly) _someone_ had much to gain from the Comte being... removed
* Morgan nods
(Molly) And if there is a connection there, perhaps we are at risk from the montaigne girl, who has goodness knows what tools at her disposal
(Morgan) I doubt it, I've not prevented her dealing with him, I've just put him away from us
(Molly) Hopefully that will be enough
* Morgan shrugs
(Morgan) if not, I'll deal with them
* Molly looks at him
(Molly) I have no doubt about that at all, liebling
* Molly moves to pour some tea. He can see it isn't very hot anymore as it flows from the spout. She offers him some.
(Morgan) please
* Molly reduces the sugar in hers to two, then brings his over. She smiles softly
(Morgan) Thank you blossom
(Molly) I can not imagine it is easy for you to remain here when there is much to do elsewhere
* Morgan nods
(Morgan) I'm not particularly keen on leaving the safety and security to people I don't know who aren't actually particularly good at it
* Molly nods
(Molly) I can not say I feel at ease when it was so easy for her to taint my wine
(Morgan) No... it was clever, but she still had to do the leg work herself
* Molly nods. She puts things back into the sewing box
(Molly) Does that go in our favour?
(Morgan) I think so
* Molly nods
(Morgan) it could hint that she has less pull than she thinks, or that she's trying to make us believe
(Molly) I'm glad. I would be happier knowing that the risks are external to his Graces house, rather than internal
* Molly looks thoughtful
* Morgan nods
(Morgan) indeed
(Molly) You think perhaps poisoning me in so traceable a manner could be to lull us into a false sense of security?
(Morgan) maybe... or maybe she didn't think we'd find out, and that she's trying to bluff that she has reach even from where she is
* Molly nods
(Molly) It would be much easier if we were somewhere where we had more control over the situation
* Morgan nods
(Morgan) I may well start... influencing the situation
* Molly smiles, watching him
(Molly) I can see the sense in that
* Morgan nods
(Molly) Will his Grace accept such influencing though?
* Morgan sighs
(Morgan) That is not necessarily a question that I'm going to consider
* Molly watches him closely
(Molly) Because, as you said last night, Varick and I are everything?
* Morgan nods
* Molly speaks quietly
(Molly) Could you truly defy your Eisenfurst?
(Morgan) if I need to
* Molly looks solemn
(Molly) I hope it will not come to that
(Morgan) as do I
(Molly) Do you think it might?
(Morgan) Possibly. I think if he can be made to see what needs doing, it could well be avoided
(Molly) Is there much you feel is being done incorrectly?
* Morgan sips his tea, smiling slightly
(Morgan) Quite a bit
* Molly giggles, looking more relaxed than she has since he arrived with the bad news
(Molly) Does he know what you were doing on the Torrington Estate?
* Morgan shakes his head
(Morgan) I don't believe so
* Molly nods
(Morgan) I'm expecting some resistance from his staff
(Molly) I would be surprised if there was not. I can not imagine the staff at Lady Catherine's would have taken well to being given instructions from visiting nobles *She gives him a sidelong playful glance*
(Morgan) Indeed, I would imagine they'd have much to say
* Molly bites her lip, trying to suppress a smile
(Molly) The master-at-arms could be somewhat firm
(Morgan) Bit of a tyrant if I remember rightly
* Molly smiles
(Molly) Indeed, I once heard it said he needed flogging
* Molly sips her tea
(Morgan) I see
* Molly frowns slightly, looking a little concerned
(Molly) I'm sorry, liebling, I was trying to lighten the mood
(Morgan) Well, they're probably right
* Molly shakes her head
(Molly) Not at all.
(Molly) You were an incredible master at arms. And you weren't a tyrant... *She looks closely at his expression and body language ((help pls))
* Morgan shrugs
(Morgan) I simply wanted people to do what they were supposed to
* Molly nods
(Molly) Fortunately this time your charge is a little more inclined to do as she's instructed
* Morgan nods
(Morgan) a pity the staff will probably object more
* Molly nods
(Molly) They aren't aware how implacable you are
(Morgan) not yet
* Molly smiles. Varick comes out of his room with his soldiers, putting them on the table
(Molly) V: *He looks at Morgan* will you play with me?
(Morgan) what would you like to play little man?
(Molly) V: battles. You can be the bad ones, and I'll be the good ones
(Morgan) the bad ones?
(Molly) V: the people invading
(Morgan) I see
* Molly takes a minute to tidy the room. The rain seems to have lessened.
(Molly) V: Not good to invade.
(Morgan) generally speaking, no
(Molly) V: *he looks at Morgan whilst standing up the white vaticine pieces* people would feel scared.
(Morgan) Thats completely understandable
(Molly) V: But they would have some people to defend them
(Morgan) Sometimes people have to defend themselves
(Molly) V: *he looks thoughtful* even if they're scared?
* Morgan nods
* Molly watches the rain from the window, though he can tell from the way she tenses slightly at this that she's listening still
(Molly) V: *he looks disconcertingly directly at Morgan* will I have to defend myself?
(Morgan) Not as long as I have a say in it... its my job to keep you safe
(Molly) V: *he nods* So I don't have to be scared?
* Molly comes back over, kissing Varick's crown from behind him. The concern for him is clear to see in her eyes
(Morgan) Being scared isn't always a bad thing.... its your body trying to tell you something isn't normal
(Molly) V: *he nods slowly. Molly sits beside him* Have you ever been scared?
* Morgan nods
(Morgan) oh yes
(Molly) **There's a sudden knock at the door, no louder than normal, but enough to make Molly jump**
(Molly) V: *he watches the door somewhat warily *
(Morgan) who is it?
(Molly) Servant: My Lord, I have a note from his Grace
* Morgan goes to the door, putting one hand inside his jacket before opening the door
(Molly) ** The servant on the other side holds the note on a silver tray, as would be expected.
* Morgan takes the note
(Molly) **It's on good quality paper. The servant waits for instructions *
* Morgan opens the note to read it
(Molly) It reads "Dear Morgan, guards have been posted on all entrances and patrols have been established. If you would like to bring our (underlined)dear veisgrafin ( end underline) to the music room, she and the young baron can explore the instruments whilst we talk. Faulk.
* Morgan frowns slightly
(Morgan) his Grace gave you this himself?
(Molly) S: yes My Lord
(Morgan) very well. Let him know we'll be down shortly
(Molly) S: *he bows and goes*
* Morgan locks the door again before handing the note to Molly
* Molly looks it over, then hands it back
(Molly) What thinks you, liebling?
(Morgan) It came from him directly, apparently
* Molly nods
(Molly) It is plausible, given that he called me "Dear veisgrafin" before leaving us earlier
* Morgan nods
(Morgan) indeed
* Molly watches him
(Molly) Should we go?
(Morgan) Its probably best... it'll give Varick some time out of the room, and it seems he wants to talk to me
* Molly nods, picking up her sword from by the door and adding it to the holster she's wearing
(Molly) V: *he watches them solemnly* where are we going?
(Morgan) The Eisenfurst has asked if you'd like to have a look at the instruments in the music room
(Molly) V: *his eyes light up* will there be a piano?
(Morgan) Possibly, possibly
* Molly waits quietly beside the door for them to be ready
(Molly) You haven't had chance to show Morgan how you've improved yet, have you Mauschen?
(Molly) V: *he looks to Morgan* I practised. A lot.
(Morgan) I'm sure you did. I look forward to hearing you
(Molly) **They make their way back downstairs, down the narrow stairs where he didn't want to let go of her hand. Though she responds to Varick's talking, she's clearly watching the space around them as they progress. There's the faintest sound of a single set of footsteps approaching from around a corner
* Morgan prepares silently to take action
* Molly glances at him, hearing it barely any slower than he does, frowning slightly
(Molly) **He recognises Claudias familiar steps
* Morgan sighs slightly
** You're now known as Claudia
* Claudia rounds the corner. She doesn't look impressed
* Claudia makes the gesture she, he and HH commonly use for "useless assholes"
* Morgan smirks slightly
(Morgan) someones happy
(Claudia) Not much to report. *She briefly glances at Molly and Varick, making a gesture for We Should Talk Privately*
* Morgan nods
(Morgan) why don't you walk with us?
* Claudia falls in line beside him. Molly briefly glances at Morgan, then engages Varick in discussion about what music he'll play and the specific details of it
* Morgan speaks quietly
(Morgan) problems?
* Claudia matches her volume to his
(Claudia) Almost all of the Eisenfursts valets were replaced as soon as they got back to Fischler.
(Morgan) Any left who went?
(Claudia) Two. One now serves Isiah, the other is a guard at the guardhouse
* Morgan nods slowly
(Morgan) interesting
* Claudia nods
(Claudia) The other ten are mostly people who live in Fischler
(Morgan) So contactable... though, if I'm honest, the two that are left are quite interesting
* Claudia nods
(Claudia) Why move them rather than dismiss them
(Morgan) indeed.
(Morgan) Two fairly important positions to be moved into... reward for services perhaps?
* Claudia shrugs
(Claudia) Or a demotion from Eisenfursts valet to Grafs valet or guard?
(Morgan) maybe, maybe...
* Claudia speaks quieter still
(Claudia) That's not why they're useless assholes though
(Morgan) go on
(Claudia) There's too many of them. They're all more keen on sitting in their bunk and playing cards. The duty is spread too thin, their aim is to do the bare minimum and then go home. Frankly it's disgusting.
* Morgan nods
(Claudia) Any orders?
(Morgan) the usual. Keep your eyes open
* Claudia nods
(Claudia) Where will you be?
(Morgan) music room for now
* Claudia nods, inclining her head, and heads off down another corridor. They arrive at the music room
* Morgan knocks
** You're now known as Fischler
(Fischler) Come in
* Morgan opens the door
(Fischler) **The music room is beautiful. With two grand pianos centre place, it's obviously been given much attention. Faulk sits at a table, and hung on the wall behind him are four guitars, 3 violins, and shelves full of boxed instruments. There's a cello in one corner*
(Fischler) *Varick looks around with keen interest, just as he did at the weapons in Claudias house*
* Fischler rises, coming and bowing to them
* Morgan inclines his head
(Morgan) your grace
(Fischler) Good morning, coffee is coming shortly. Please make yourselves at home. *Varick spots a glockenspiel, making a beeline for it, and faulk nods as Molly asks if Varick can touch it* You may all play anything you wish.
(Fischler) *Molly goes to sit on the floor with Varick, and rapidly realises she can't without first removing the sword. She does so, but he sees a flicker of reluctance in her expression. Rapidly the soft wooden ringing of the glockenspiel provides a low background noise to talk over
* Fischler looks to Morgan
(Fischler) How are-...? *he's interrupted by a knock. The noise of the instrument halts suddenly, eyes trained on the door*
* Fischler goes, opening the door without hesitancy ((what's he paying attention to))
(Morgan) ((the door, he's getting ready to go batshit))
* Fischler dismisses the servant, taking the tray. He shuts the door behind him with his elbow
(Fischler) **Varick starts playing again, but Molly's attention is on Morgan
(Fischler) ** Molly stands, brushing off her trousers. She leaves Varick playing and moves to a piano. Though she appears to be looking it over, he knows it's a ruse to seem more relaxed than she is
* Fischler puts down the tray on the table. With the cups and jugs are a stack of letters
* Fischler speaks quietly
(Fischler) As I was saying, how are you all?
(Morgan) He's alright... we've kept most of it to ourselves. Molly and I, well... this isn't the first time we've been in danger
* Fischler frowns a little
(Fischler) No?
(Morgan) Not by a long way
* Fischler starts to pour coffee into three cups, and just milk in the final one
(Fischler) As much danger as this?
(Morgan) Realistically? Much much worse
* Fischler nods, looking somewhat impressed
(Fischler) Your resilience is to be admired
* Morgan shrugs
(Morgan) the choice is simple... step up or be ready to die.
(Fischler) **Molly lays the sword on top of a piano before sitting at it
(Fischler) Well, I don't think it'll be quite as bad as that
(Morgan) I think you underestimate my cousin
* Fischler watches him
(Fischler) How dangerous can she really be? She's only been here for seven weeks
(Morgan) Lets imagine she's half as good as me for a moment... she'll already know your weaknesses in security, who she can manipulate, who can't be swayed... because she's been inside the circle of trust.... people will have wanted to help her, she's the Grafin, the newlywed...
* Fischler nods slowly
(Fischler) You think she's as good as that?
(Morgan) No... I think she's better
* Fischler looks deeply concerned
(Morgan) and lets not pretend that there aren't any weaknesses
* Fischler looks a little put out but also interested
(Fischler) Such as?
(Fischler) **Molly watches the two of them a moment before opening the piano lid
(Morgan) You had a valet wandering around Sudlachenburg meddling in god knows what... and you don't know who it was...
(Morgan) The entire set of files from a lawyer concerning, in part, your Grafin, were handed over to a total stranger without question
(Morgan) A total stranger gained access to a prisoner in your local jail...
(Fischler) **Molly begins to play something he doesn't recognise, but with the middle pedal depressed it is quiet enough to still talk over
* Fischler watches Morgan, his jaw tighter. He inhales deeply, obviously thinking. He doesn't respond immediately, but keeps watching Morgan
(Fischler) **Varick watches both men before getting up to sit on the far side of Molly. She starts humming along, but again it provides a screen for their conversation rather than an interruption
* Fischler looks at Morgan
(Fischler) You are brutally frank.
(Morgan) Only with my friends.... would you prefer I pander to you and give you false security?
* Fischler sighs
(Fischler) No, you are right.
(Morgan) that happens occasionally
* Fischler smiles slightly
(Fischler) We probably aren't as security conscious since the War ended. Fischler has been one of most peaceful Konigsreichs, it's easy to relax too much
* Fischler sips his coffee
(Morgan) There's nothing wrong in revelling in peace... I think part of the issue is that people of noble birth almost assume no-one would plot in their area of rule
* Fischler nods
(Fischler) True
(Fischler) But this issue is very different to what we Eisenfurst are used to
(Morgan) perhaps... but its not new to have someone have someone else killed for their own gain... its just not usually their wife.
* Fischler nods
(Fischler) Obviously I will remedy these faults. Anything else?
* Morgan nods slowly
(Morgan) When you returned, you had a change of staff, except for two, who are now guarding Isiah and the guardhouse respectively... why?
(Fischler) The one at the guardhouse is the nephew of my late wife, and the one serving Isiah is a man he went to the vaticine military academy in Paderborn with
* Morgan nods slowly
(Morgan) You need to shake up your security roster... they're taking advantage
(Fischler) Tell me more. **There's a knock at the door. Faulk goes to it, but asks who it is. Upon hearing the name, he looks to Morgan* Will you excuse me? I'll be right back
* Morgan frowns
(Morgan) as you wish
(Fischler) **Molly looks up as Faulk leaves. She lets Varick play a minute. She takes the sword from the top, keeping it low at her side. She comes to his side, speaking quietly
(Fischler) Should we leave, liebling?
(Morgan) I wouldn't say so right now
* Fischler looks serious
** You're now known as Molly
(Molly) I did not know it was so bad
* Morgan nods
(Morgan) and we've discovered that in a day...
* Molly nods slowly
(Molly) That is troubling
(Molly) **Faulk comes back in. He looks worried. Molly glances back at Morgan before placing the sword back on her belt and takes her coffee cup and varicks milk back to the piano
* Morgan looks at Faulk
(Morgan) problem?
(Molly) **he motions Morgan further away from the others*
* Morgan moves
(Molly) **Molly watches them. She once more puts the sword back on the piano.
** You're now known as Faulk
* Faulk whispers
(Faulk) The four guards I sent yesterday to investigate the montaigne assasin you mentioned were found executed this morning
(Morgan) Thats not good.
(Faulk) No. No it isn't.
(Faulk) They were experienced, well-armed, strong men. My head of security is on his way back with more information.
(Morgan) I'll want to speak with him
* Faulk nods
(Faulk) I was going to ask if you would
* Faulk looks thoughtful
** Morgan has said your nick on Morgan
(Faulk) Are you leaving Fischler as planned on Tuesday, or staying until after your father has arrived?
(Morgan) We'll be staying
* Faulk nods
(Faulk) There was much I planned to discuss with you whilst you were here. My failing security was not in that plan, but I'd appreciate your input in how things can be improved.
* Morgan nods
(Morgan) since its within my realm of experience, I think that'd be a good idea
(Faulk) Your father is lucky to have a son with such an interest in security
* Morgan shakes his head
(Morgan) while I was away I threw myself into running an estate
* Faulk moves back to the table and sits down. Molly is stood by the piano. Her position is casual as she sips her coffee, her eyes anything but.
(Faulk) Your mother's lands in Avalon?
* Morgan shakes his head
(Morgan) no
* Faulk catches Molly watching them
(Faulk) What do you think of the piano, Veisgraffin?
(Faulk) **She smiles warmly** very pretty, your Grace. I should imagine it sounds beautiful when not using the Sostenuto pedal(Molly) *Faulk smiles* Please, be my guest. *She sits back at the piano, this time keeping her feet off the pedal. She places a short piece, concentrating on the keys, unfamiliar to Morgan ((unforgiven 3 intro)). The piano does indeed have a beautiful sound to it. Faulk watches her play, but speaks to Morgan quietly* I don't usually let guests play that one. Aside from yearly tuning, it hasn't really been played in nearly thirty years.

* @Morgan nods
(Faulk) **When she finishes, he smiles at her* Very nice. You play well. *She blushes* Thank you your Grace, I was fortunate to have my wonderful mother-in-law to instruct me for many hours whilst our husbands were at the building site. *he looks to Morgan. She returns to playing with the practice pedal depressed, once more humming the tune she had earlier, unfamiliar*
(Faulk) F: How did the work go during your honeymoon?
(@Morgan) Well. Everyone seems to be settling in
(Faulk) It is completed?
* @Morgan nods
(@Morgan) my father had a plaque put in place
(Faulk) He mentioned whilst I was there that he planned to
(@Morgan) little bit vainglorious if you ask me
