Whether I should feel pride at my homeland or reluctance because of its history... A little while later, the groom leads out Aurora to Molly, who stands in the yard. Several feet away, Martha smiles briefly at her daughter, whlst David helps her in to the coach that is loaded with their trunks and bags. Letting the coach lead out, Molly deftly mounts Aurora, and with aquick check to make sure her father can no longer see, she rides properly, not the side saddle insisted upon for women. She lets Aurora wander around to warm her long, muscled legs, waiting for Morgan. A few minutes later, they trail the coach, and pass relatively quietly through the countryside, Molly havng said little, enjoying the countryside. Weighing anchor off shore, the worst of the storm came whilst they were stationary, but made for very little sleep. Thus, once in Freiburg, the three Forresters settled quietly in the tavern and slept right through. The next day the weather was poor, though they made good time out of freiburg, the first of the seven days on the road to Sudlachenburg. It has been an uneventful journey. The second day, Molly is already in the stable, fixing her saddle on to Aurora. The weather is bright and blue, promising a nice day. The tavern they've stayed in in nice and simple, the stables having only one groom, who Molly chats to quietly. Unsuprisingly, these common people only speak eisen, so this is how she talks with him. He is a young man, about 18 summers, pleasant looking. She smiles, motioning him over, from her kneeling position, checking Aurora's back hoof, at the boy. > > 'Ja, sie ist freundlich, komme, komme...' (yes, she's friendly, come, come...) < 04Molly > morgan: Whether I should feel pride at my homeland or reluctance because of its history... And I'm apprehensive as to how your father will behave < 04Molly > *she smiles* < 04Molly > You should be proud, it is beautiful. And those marks of the war, they are beautiful to me also, marks of survival. And as for my father, he may have more to think on than his animosity.... < 04Molly > ~*~ < 08@Morgan > perhaps * Molly looks around at the scenery < 04Molly > I am more concerned that your parents will find us all terribly common < 08@Morgan > I shouldn't imagine so < 04Molly > Is it strange, riding this way once more? Twas not so long ago you were here last * Molly smiles at him softly * @Morgan nods < 08@Morgan > aye... I'm finding my thoughts are still full of the matters of the house though < 04Molly > How so, dear one? < 08@Morgan > things that need doing, wondering if they are actually getting done * Molly frowns slightly before looking away < 04Molly > I wonder that you will wish to return there for good, once we are wed... < 08@Morgan > not likely < 04Molly > I... I wonder, have you given any thought to what you _do_ wish to do? < 08@Morgan > so many things to decide... * Molly nods < 04Molly > So many options... Its is nice to have choices... * @Morgan nods < 08@Morgan > aye < 04Molly > I wonder, will your parents wish you to stay in Sudlachenburg now? < 08@Morgan > I'm not sure I understand < 04Molly > I thought perhaps they might expect you to stay, to prepare for being Graf someday < 08@Morgan > perhaps... I'm afraid i dont knwo * Molly watches him from the corner of her eye < 04Molly > Would that trouble you? < 08@Morgan > I'm not sure... * Molly smiles < 04Molly > There is no rush, you need not decide yet. Whatever we do, I shall be proud to stand beside you < 08@Morgan > I do hope you get on with my parents... it would certainly make life easier < 04Molly > I will domy best not to let you down < 08@Morgan > you wont let me down... no matter what you do * Molly smiles < 04Molly > I am glad to hear that.... When you rode this way last, I doubt you could ever have imagined riding this way with me < 08@Morgan > dont be silly * Molly blushes < 04Molly > I'm sorry < 08@Morgan > I just hope that the house doesn't make us look terribly... vain * Molly laughs < 04Molly > I can not see how it could < 08@Morgan > you've not seen it yet < 04Molly > It is Eisen... it is supposed to be impressive and foreboding, is it not? < 08@Morgan > I wouldn't say foreboding... though it might perhaps discourage overenthusiastic visitors * Molly laughs, and then looks at him, eyes soft < 04Molly > It could be a tiny wooden shed, and it would still not change my opinion of you, dear one < 08@Morgan > I suppose we shall see soon enough * Molly nods < 04Molly > Another 3 days I believe * @Morgan nods < 08@Morgan > sounds about right < 04Molly > And five more weeks tl we are wed * @Morgan nods < 08@Morgan > aye blossom < 04Molly > Has word been sent on that we are coming, or is it to be a suprise? < 08@Morgan > word has been sent * Molly smiles, looking slightly relieved < 04Molly > I am glad < 08@Morgan > oh? < 04Molly > It will allow them chance to come to terms with the idea of us * @Morgan nods briefly < 04Molly > I would not wish to be an unpleasant suprise... < 08@Morgan > you couldn't be * Molly giggles < 04Molly > My father could * @Morgan sniffs < 08@Morgan > perhaps... < 04Molly > I will not let him behave badly... if necessary, I will tell him he has to leave < 08@Morgan > I'll put him in a wing on his own until he can learn to behave like a civilised adult * Molly laughs * @Morgan turns his head slightly with a completely serious expression < 04Molly > I think he will behave... I think tomorrow I must begin to teach them to speak Eisen. Though your parents will be perfectly versed in Avalonian, if he can understand Eisen, he may be less suspicious < 08@Morgan > actually, my father still doesn't speak Avalonian particularly well < 04Molly > That is suprising... and makes my teaching all the more necessary < 08@Morgan > he can speak it well enough, obviously... < 04Molly > We may have to be unofficial translators then * Molly pats Aurora's neck < 04Molly > I spoke to Mama < 08@Morgan > oh? < 04Molly > I exxplained the situation, and that I wished her to take the matter to my father today * @Morgan nods < 08@Morgan > I see < 04Molly > So by this evening, I hope to have an answer < 08@Morgan > and what did she say? < 04Molly > That she understood but would not give me permission without speaking to my father * @Morgan nods * Molly shrugs < 04Molly > As to quite what she'll ask of him, I do not know... I was purposefully vague * @Morgan chuckles * Molly blushes a little < 04Molly > I thought that 'to be allowed to be affectionate with each other' would be enough < 08@Morgan > I should imagine so < 04Molly > Not that I shall expect you to be any different, if you do not wish to. Everything will be done as you wish it * Molly smiles * @Morgan glances around furtively before reaching into a saddle bag, rummaging * Molly watches him with interest * @Morgan produces a small silver hip flask and grins quickly < 04Molly > Now what do you have there, dear one? * @Morgan sniffs loudly < 08@Morgan > brandy... they didn't have any blokners comfort < 04Molly > I've no doubt there will be some at one of the stops before we arrive at die Dauerhaftigkeit < 08@Morgan > I hope so < 04Molly > did you stay at all these inns last time? < 08@Morgan > no, I... I slept in a tent * Molly tilts her head thoughtfully < 04Molly > Intriguing, dear heart. Why so? < 08@Morgan > I'm used to it... I ride until I cannot... rather than to where others deem I should stop * Molly smiles < 04Molly > what is it like, sleeping in a tent? < 08@Morgan > noisy * Molly laughs < 04Molly > I think I would like to try it at some point < 08@Morgan > if you wish... * Molly bites her lip < 04Molly > Have you a tent big enough for two? < 08@Morgan > somewhere I've got a tent big enough for ten < 04Molly > I think I might rather squeeze in to a tent for one than have so much space! * @Morgan nods < 08@Morgan > the main issue is getting up before sunrise < 04Molly > Why would you? < 08@Morgan > because once the sun hits the canvas, it starts getting very hot * Molly smiles, and bites her lip < 04Molly > yes, that would be bad... < 08@Morgan > headaches arise very quickly in a too warm tent < 04Molly > I am used to awaking so early... or at least I was, whilst I worked * @Morgan nods < 04Molly > You are making my life far too easy, my love < 08@Morgan > oh? < 04Molly > I no longer get up so early, I choose my own food, I can go where I wish to and when... none of this freedom I had before < 08@Morgan > and that bothers you? < 04Molly > No, please, do not think me ungrateful, I am just amazed how lucky I am * Molly smiles softly at him * @Morgan sighs < 08@Morgan > I suspect once I become Graf, those easy days will be behind us < 04Molly > Why so? < 08@Morgan > because Sudlachenburg requires a lot of work * Molly smiles < 04Molly > I am sure we shall both then have much to keep us busy < 08@Morgan > I expect so < 08@Morgan > as it is its going to take us days to get the tour of the estate, let alone the town < 04Molly > Goodness! I had not thought it so big! < 08@Morgan > its... well, to be frank, the house is larger than Lady Torringtons < 04Molly > That is something that displeases you? < 08@Morgan > I've lived the life of a humble man for a few years now... I served in the war, sleeping on the ground... the size of the house makes me feel somehting of an imposter * Molly shakes her head < 04Molly > You neednt. < 08@Morgan > we'll see < 04Molly > It is what you were born to, dear one, you can never be an imposter there < 08@Morgan > perhaps... though I've been away so long I'm not sure I should be there < 04Molly > There is very little option, unless you are willing to have Edward and his descendants hold the land * Molly looks down at her hands < 08@Morgan > no... I will not dishonour my father like that < 04Molly > Good, I truly would hate to see that happen... however, that requires that someday at least, we must live there permanately * @Morgan nods < 08@Morgan > aye < 04Molly > and I shall be beside you every moment, all you need do is ask * @Morgan nods < 04Molly > It will all be well. Perhaps once we arrive, you will feel more like you wish to remain there < 08@Morgan > possibly < 08@Morgan > we shall have to wait and see * Molly nods
