*It is saturday afternoon, and Molly has returned from Tawstock, where she goes every day for most of the day. She comes in through the great hall, and asks one of the maids where Colonel Kai can be found. she goes through into the corridor, literally bumping in to him. She still has her cloak on, cheeks flushed from the three mile walk back to the house. She smiles at him.* I am sorry, Colonel, please excuse my clumsiness. Kai smiles warmly, and for a brief moment, all the strain that has been on him the last few weeks is momentarily lifted.   "Good afternoon Molly. i trust you are vell ziz fine day?" Oh yes, I am very well. My work in Tawstock does me quite well. I need to speak with you privately, if you can spare me the time? "For you molly, i always have time" he says warmly. Assuming there close to Catherines room, he points to there for them to talk in private. *Molly goes in to one of the rooms rarely used, lined with books, ((cathrines room would be locked)), and waits quietly.* I don't believe anyone comes here much any more... Please, pull the door to. Kai closes the door a little but leaves it slightly ajar. he walks over to a seat in the room and stands next to it, waiting for Molly to be seated first.   "Vhat can i do for you m'lady?" *she removes her cloak, under which she conceals a large, obviously heavy bag* I wish to resolve our invoice. Kai's eyebrows raise, more in surprise than shock at the sight of such a huge bag of money.   "Interesting" *Molly smiles slightly, as if pleased at having caught him off guard* I believe the final sum was just shy of One thousand, nine hundered and twenty one guilders, was it not? "Ja... ziz is correct." he says with a tone that reflects how impressed he is "Vell done!"   "I dont need to know how you did it, just know zhat I am impressed that you did it!" "Ziz must have called in a lot of favours?" *she leaves the bag on the chair, and folds her cloak over the back of it. She moves over towards the window, looking out, voice serious* Aye, a great many. Still, it is done now. It is all there, if you wish to count it. "Zere is no personal need for me to count it, but... for legal reasons zere iz!" he says not moving from the chair but Molly can feel kai watching her rather than the money. "We vill nedd to count this for two reasons.   "Von, ziz really should be brokered through our solicitors, und ziz is a dangerous amount of money for either you or I to hold onto. I would suggest, that this be placed into somewhere more secure!"   "Secondly, it must be counted so that i can wite a receipt und officially consider ziz matter closed!"   "Does ziz seem amicable?" *she remains stood by the window, looking out over the village. Though she knows he's watching, she doesnt turn around. She knows full well it is accurate down to the cent.* Of course, I would have it no other way. I believe that perhaps Master Morgan may find somewhere for you to keep it securely here until you have time or inclination to take it to the bank in either Carleon or Freiburg. "A good idea... Though i zink this vill need to be moved sooner"   "Oh..." he says as if struck by an obvious solution "i think i take it to tawstock. i have someone there who can take custody of these funds!" *she turns with a smile* That seems wise. It is quite busy there today, I have only just returned. "can you tell me vhat zere is in Tawstock for you... business vise?" he ask curiously *Molly smiles softly* I am teaching people to read and write... commoners, like I was, who have not been as fortunate as I was to be taught here by Mr Black. "A very noble effort vhich vill bring its own rewards..." I do not look for much in reward, I enjoy it so immensely.
