Crys says: *Molly speaks quietly* I confess, I did not think that it would happen so quickly. I thought that you would not be blamed, for no-one had noticed the closeness between you yet. Twiglet says: Yet you seem happy to let others believe that I have done something inappropriate...and that the breaking of your engagement was Lord Jaeger's doing... Crys says: *Molly looks shocked* How did I do such a thing? I am certain I said that he and I had come to a decision and it was amicable. Twiglet says: But when others turned their attention to him, daggers drawn, you did nothing to disuade them... Crys says: *she closes her eyes, as if recalling* I told them it  was the best for both of us, and that neither of us had been certain. Were I to have rushed ahead and ordred them to behave, it undermines his authority as a lord, to have a woman of my rank have to defend him. It would have looked far more suspicious for you both that way. Had you not left, no-one would have paid the slightest attention Twiglet says: Do you think it was easy for me to sit there having dinner with another woman's fiancé? As soon as you spoke I knew what would happen...I left as I needed to get out of there! Crys says: And had I been able to, I would have warned you, but I could not get a moment alone with you. I had thought that Lord jaeger might have whispered it to you whilst you and he were speaking. I am sorry you felt so, it was never my intention Twiglet says: I think it is also Lord Jaeger that is owed an apology... Crys says: How so? Twiglet says: He has been painted as the 'bad man' in this when we both know it was your ministrations that lead him to react as he has and even broach the subject if voiding your engagement Crys says: *Molly's eyes go wide* No. He told me he had had doubts for a while Twiglet says: Really? Did you not ask me to turn his head? I would also say that you need to speak to Morgan then as he seems to think that I have whispered words of poison in Lord Jaeger's ear... Crys says: *Molly looks away* I asked you, yes, but I believed that although Lord Jaeger had been told that I was basically debasing myself with the Colonel and the Lietenant at the monestary, his doubts stemmed from further back, and thus the engagement would have been ended regardless. Twiglet says: To be fair Molly, your interest in our Eisen hosts has been clear...but I did not tell Jaeger this. I just did not disuade him on anything he already believed Crys says: As I knew it must be. WHat remains is that he told me he doubted the marriage for a while. I shall speak with him. I have already told Evie that you were not involved, and the engagement was already failing before now. She understands, and will _not_ behave so again. Twiglet says: Yet Morgan accuses -me- of inappropriate behaviour... Crys says: Morgan is a law unto himself. And until I am told otherwise, he is my boss, and therefore I shall not reprimand him. I told him that Lord Jaeger had accused me of behaving in an indiscreet manner based on rumours he had heard. Given that he had only conversed with you, it is only logical that it could have come that way. I doubt Morgan will even mention it again. He has a short but quick temper Twiglet says: and an equally quick tongue it seems Crys says: *Molly watches her closely* He is my closest friend, and regardless of how you think of him, I shall not be drawn to speak against him. He has been like an older brother to me since I took up employ in the house. That he feels it necessary to defend my honour is undrstandable. As I said, I would doubt it will be spoken of again. Twiglet says: *Rebecca looks her square in the eye* That's as may be...but leveling accustations at people is not an action to be taken lightly Crys says: *Molly looks at her, as if trying to make a decision* What is it you wish to see happen, ady Rebecca? Twiglet says: *Rebecca shrugs a little* You will act as you will. That is not something I can change or effect in any way. You have Morgan stepping in to defend your honour. I have no such luxury but do not doubt I will defend myself if I feel I have been insulted Crys says: I doubt Morgan will mention it again. I did not ask for my honour to be defended so, but these people are my friends. I do not wish for animosity between any of us, but if none but I am willing to set aside my percecptions of the behaviour of others, I must act to ensure the future of my ship. Twiglet says: Ah yes...the ship...it was a wedding gift was it not? Crys says: Actually, brother siegfried had intended to give away the ship regardless. It was only under the ruse of a wedding gift that he could give me both it and the title without a risk to my reputation. *There is a coldness in her eyes* Twiglet says: *Rebecca shrugs* Very well Crys says: Had there been thought to have my ship taken from me, my Lady? Twiglet says: *Rebecca sighs* Frankly, Molly, You can do what you want with your ship. Crys says: I do not want us to argue Rebecca... I like you, I think you are a fascinating woman. Twiglet says: *Rebecca looks at her considering her for a moment, an unusual fire burns in her eyes* Thank you for the compliment. I do not -wish- to fight with anyone...but I -will- defend myself if I have been wronged. I may -only- be a woman but I will fight till my last breath for what I believe in and the people I care about.  Do not take me for a fool. Crys says: I do not take you for a fool at all. I dearly wish I had never involved you in the matter at all, but I had not realised that it would be ended so easily. Twiglet says: *Rebecca drops her eyes* Peoples affections are not to be trifled with... Crys says: *Molly simply nods*  It is done now and can not be undone. Crys says: ((which is about the point Jaeger interuts by shouting))
